If the train is still working at that time it could be a great happening.

But we are talking about a opening in 2024 and there is the question about if the steam trains will get the new ERTMS level 2 signaling system or if it is to expensive.

I have heard of prices around 4 million DKK per unit so the future of the danish steam locomotives is uncertain.

A solution with a mobile unit has been suggested so several clubs can share a unit but I don't now what the status is with that one.

Yeah, that would be really nice, but whether or not it can or will be done is an entirely different matter.

But the solution with a mobile or portable unit has been suggested with a version of the Danish ATC system has been suggested previously, but for some unknown reason this has been dropped. Perhaps it would be easier or cheaper to get dispensation, as with the ATC, to drive at a lower speed, for example max. speed 80 km/h.

How is that supposed to work?
Driving without ATC is simpke, as you just rely on the external signals, as you did before the introducton of ATC.

But with the inroduction of the new ERTMS level 2 signaling system the external signals disappear....
